Reward Management – The Role of the First Line Manager

Recent research on reward management and practices stresses the importance of the role of the first line manager. The first line manager is often the difference between getting mediocre results and absolute success. Getting there means the following:

• Having the first line manager involved in the development of a reward program
• Ample training on the program before it is released
• Make sure they are enablers for their subordinates
• Get their feedback from their experiences with the reward program to get valuable input for new plan modifications.

The first line of management is a tough job. They need your support. No better place to invest your time.
