View from the Top
The View from the Top is business intelligence (BI) performance
management offering from NSS that provides for an interactive dashboard
that allows the ‘C’ level and senior executives easy
access for monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators
for their enterprise. The initial offering includes the technology
to develop the Corporate Dashboard along with a services package
to implement a customized view based on the unique requirements
from the top management team.
Software Component
The technology behind the solution is Xcelsius Engage Server from
SAP BusinessObjects. This product provides all the tools necessary
to implement an interactive Dashboard accessed through web services.
In addition, web services are used to access a number of disparate
data repositories located throughout the corporate intranet.
The solution includes a perpetual license for Xcelsius. While our
package offering includes the implementation of a customized solution,
Xcelsius can be used to develop any number of dashboards for your
organization. NSS delivers the solution under an OEM arrangement
with SAP BusinessObjects which is a division of SAP. More information
on Xcelsius can be accessed at www.sap.com. It is a product within
the BusinessObjects portfolio.
Services Component
The initial service offering includes the implementation of one
Dashboard that provides the View from the Top. The scope of effort
for this offering is based on the following assumptions:
- The number of metrics will be limited to ten
- Drill down will be to the branch and/or department
- One performance stratification color coding standard will apply to all metrics
- The view of the data will be limited to the current fiscal year
The scope of work for this package includes the following:
- Interview with top management to determine key metrics and drill
down analysis
- Work with customer personnel to complete prototype look
- Perform feasibility study to identify sources and accessibility
to data
- Agree on final prototype
- Implement web services to access data
- Work with customer personnel to install technology at their site
- Implement the View from the Top customized Dashboard at the customer
site
- Perform acceptance test
- Introduce to top management.
Pricing The introductory pricing for View from the Top is $12,500 for
the first three XSELLerator customers. This includes the technology
and the services package described above. Annual Product Support
is 20% of the total offering price and provides support for the
customized solution and access to updates to Xcelsius. Customization
above the package cost is $75 per hour.
